Saturday I wrapped it up with the stain. With my new airless sprayer (well worth the cost) it took 2.5 hrs and 15 gallons to stain both sides of a 300′ fence — that’s 3600 sq ft!
So…after 5 months, several trips to Lowes, 1000 pickets, 2 gates, 15 gallons of stain, and 300 linear feet of fencing…the project is finally complete. My neighbors must be happy it’s over. Just a few photos for those of you who have asked…

In early March I began plans to enclose my back yard with a fence. So here we are 3 months later and it appears my labor is about to pay off (sure wish it was in $$). 300+ feet in overall length of western cedar and over a thousand pickets!!! I still have some finishing work to do…2 gates, cover the posts, etc. My intent is to cover all visible metal with the only exception being the catch on the gate. More photos to come upon final completion…
(Update) for those of you who have asked, yes, I am doing all the labor myself. Well, almost by myself, it couldn’t have been done without the help of my neighbors Kelly and Michael and friends Darrell, Shiloh, Adrian, and Shane.
