We’re Engaged

Engaged

In Stacey’s Words…

We went to eat with several of my friends from college last night at a Japanese steakhouse (that’s the reason you see random oriental people in the pics) and afterwards Greg took me to a small church built in the 1940’s and proposed to me. As you can see from the pictures the inside was absoluetly breathtaking and he planned the entire thing!

As we walked into the church he grabbed my hand and walked me down the aisle to the front of the church where he had a dozen red roses and more candles waiting. About half way down the aisle I realized what was happening and I thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest… in fact at one point I think it did!!!!!!

Greg reminded me of the first time we met and how he knew right away he wanted to ask me out. He talked about how much he loved my family (he said he hasn’t found one yet he didn’t love…..my first thought was wow we’ve got him snowed!!!!!). We talked about his family and I told him how wonderful they are!

He pulled out a sheet of paper that had three scriptures on it….the first was a scripture I had read at Kelley’s funeral a year ago out of Matthew 18. The second was the scripture about two being better than one and the third was the love chapter out of ICorthinthians.

(He said lots of other very sweet things but I can only remember about half of them!!!!!!)

After that, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!!!!!!

It was an incredible night that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Before all of our friends came in Greg said a prayer over us and about our relationship. He asked God to bless the road before us and asked that we bring glory and honor to Him through our relationship. I cannot think of a better way to start an engagement and a life together!!!

Ker-Plunk!

This isn’t my story to tell…but I will for your enjoyment.  While at home for Thanksgiving (Nashville) I spent a significant amount of time with my sister’s dog “Scout.”  Scout is a small dog…one of those poodle-mix breeds that doesn’t shed…for lack of better words a stuffed-animal come-to-life.  The little guy isn’t much for tricks but likes to follow you aroud.  ScoutIn fact, he’ll chase you about anywhere just to see what’s next.  Well…Scout has gotten into the habit of jumping onto the toilet lid to watch Mom as she gets ready in the morning.  Saturday morning…he wasn’t so fortunate…for I had used the bathroom in the night and had left the lid up.  So Mom’s standing there putting her on make-up and here comes Scout.  He walks in just as proud as can be and leaped upon the toilet and SPLASH!  Ha!  That little dude was scrambling just to stay afloat.

Del Frisco’s

Have you ever put a bite of ice cream, coffee, or steak in your mouth and thought “wow, that’s the best I’ve ever had.” I had one of those experiences over the weekend. My parents were in town and got to experience a little taste of “cowtown,” as they call it. Friday I took them to Mancuso’s, a great hole-in-the-wall Italian restaurant. Saturday we did a quick drive through the legendary Fort Worth Stockyards…then over to Lockheed for a plant tour. Saturday night Dad said he wanted to go somewhere nice (after only eating TX traditional last time). So we went to dinner at Del Frisco’s. I had heard it was good…but had no idea. All ordered a steak…mine was a 16oz fillet. And yes…it was the best steak I’ve ever had.
